About Track Camp
The Runner’s Camp is a one-week day camp centered on the sport of track & field for kids ages 6-16 years old. Campers are divided into groups by age and gender. They report each morning to their assigned groups, where their adult age group leader uses the Bible to talk about the spiritual side of competition and training, and how we can use these ideas in our every day life. Following the devotion time, campers receive instruction in 8 track & field events (and play some fun games too). At the end of the week, we host a track & field meet and let the campers compete against other campers their own age and gender. Parents are encouraged to come and watch their campers compete.
TRACK & FIELD
Introduce your child to one of the oldest and purest sports of all: track & field. Each day, we’ll be teaching the campers one or more of 8 different track and field events. We’ve invited high school and college athletes, coaches, and high level competitors with years of experience both in competition and coaching, to come and share their track experiences and knowledge in each of the different track events.
Running, jumping and throwing is great exercise! We want to help your kids with physical and spiritual fitness. The activities we’ll do will require lots of running. Your kids will have a great time at the camp while getting physically fit. We’ll also start each morning with a spiritual lesson taught by our camp staffers.
We want your kids to have fun interacting with other kids their age. We do our best to create a positive experience for your child. We teach and coach all the track events all week long, and hold a track meet at the end with awards for all who participate. Each group has an adult counselor, and youth volunteers, for instruction and supervision.
