WORSHIP – The act of worship includes more than just music, but music is often the greatest medium for us to worship. Our music is focused on creating an atmosphere of worship, where we can set their hearts on God, in thanks, brokenness, awe, and celebration. Because Sunday morning worship time will include non-believers, we will place a stronger emphasis on the celebration of who God is and His Love, Mercy, and Grace toward us.
In the future we plan to host a monthly evening of worship for more intimate worship times. This would be the difference, between Jesus ministry to the crowds, the sick, and the outcast and His ministry to the 12 disciples and close followers.
THE MESSAGE – The purpose of the message is to teach, challenge, and inspire. This was the ministry style of Jesus. We focus on relevant Biblically based life teaching for all and an invitation for the unchurched and dechurched to take steps toward a renewed relationship with God through the Gospel. The messages are targeted toward an audience that includes Christ followers as well as those who are still observing and looking for answers. Jesus’ messages to the crowds were not targeted at those who already accepted His message. Nor did he tell his disciples that the message was not for them. In fact, He often discussed the message with them in greater detail later.
The Sunday morning message is also preceded and interspersed with creative elements that help people to understand the message, as well as to receive the message in a relaxing, non-threatening environment. Our guests are sometimes cynical and skeptical and come in with their defenses up and their arms folded. That’s OK. We want to do what we can to get them to unfold their arms so they can listen with an open heart to the life changing message of Christ and be reunited to the purpose for which they were created.
CHILDREN”S MINISTRY – We have a fun, safe, and spiritually based children’s ministry during the Sunday morning worship hours. Our children’s ministry goal is to first of all create a safe environment for people to drop off their children. It’s important for parents to be able to come to the service without worrying about their children. But, it’s also a fun environment where we hope children can’t wait to come back when they leave. Finally, our children’s program on Sunday morning teaches Biblical principles and cultivates spiritual growth. We are currently using a curriculum that is designed to give the kids a good understanding of the whole Bible in a year and a half. We started on Sept 20th, 2015, but kids can easily join in at any time.
Except for nursery classes, we will treat our classes as learning centers not day care centers.
